One Inch Giant: Malva
22/12/11 || gk
Debut album from Swedish stoner rock trio. Take a small helping of Black Sabbath, some Alice In Chains, a generous heap of Jerry Cantrell’s “Degradation Trip” and some “Load”-era Metallica and you’ll get a fair idea of what One Inch Giant sound like. I’m not sure about the stoner rock/ metal tag because this is bland hard rock and quite boring when you’re stoned. The band seems solid enough but completely ordinary. The fact that the vocalist is constantly trying to sound like a cross between Lane Staley and Cantrell and the complete lack of guitar solos don’t help matters. One Inch Giant has some ways to go before being even close to essential.
5/10 in a very polite and unremarkable way.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
